Australia's T20 World Cup Squad: A Controversial Call?
In a move that has sparked debate among cricket enthusiasts, Australia's selectors have named Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Tim David in their provisional squad for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup, despite ongoing injury concerns.

Pat Cummins, the pace spearhead, has been recovering from a back injury and managed to play only one Test during the Ashes series. Meanwhile, Josh Hazlewood's hamstring strain kept him out of the entire Ashes campaign. And this is the part most people miss: despite these injuries, all three players have been included in the 15-player squad for the World Cup, set to take place in Sri Lanka and India next month.
Selectors Chair George Bailey expressed confidence, stating, "Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Tim David are on track, and we believe they will be fit and ready for the World Cup." However, he acknowledged that this is a preliminary squad and changes could be made before the support period.
Mitchell Marsh will once again lead the team as captain, joined by Cameron Green and Cooper Connolly, who return to the squad after missing the T20 matches against India earlier this summer.
Australia will announce a separate squad for their three T20 matches against Pakistan just before the tournament begins. The team will be based in Sri Lanka for the group stage, starting their campaign against Ireland in Colombo on February 11, followed by Zimbabwe two days later. They will then travel to Kandy to face co-hosts Sri Lanka on February 16 and Oman on February 20.
