Nottingham Forest have secured a deal for Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, with a potential fee of up to £500,000. The club is also in pursuit of Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi, aiming for an initial loan deal with a permanent transfer option. This move comes as a response to John Victor's knee injury, which will sideline him for the remainder of the season. Forest had previously explored a deal for Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa, but shifted their focus to Ortega, who has been a key player for City, featuring in 56 games since 2022, including the Premier League title win in 2024. The 33-year-old German is currently the third-choice goalkeeper at the Etihad, behind Gianluigi Donnarumma and James Trafford, and is out of contract this summer. Forest's manager, Sean Dyche, is also looking to strengthen his midfield with the potential signing of Frattesi, who has impressed with 33 caps for Italy and 19 games for Inter this season. The club's recent signings include Napoli striker Lorenzo Lucca on loan and a rejected bid for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
