Elle Macpherson Defends Against Body-Shaming Critics in Bonds Campaign
The legendary Australian supermodel, Elle Macpherson, has responded to online trolls who criticized her recent Bonds campaign, highlighting the importance of self-acceptance and confidence.
At 61, Macpherson graced the new Bonds Bases Flex underwear campaign, which aims to celebrate individuality and embrace one's natural beauty. However, some online critics took issue with her appearance, particularly her 'sun-damaged' skin, calling her 'unrecognizable'.
Despite the negative comments, many fans praised Macpherson for her natural beauty, affectionately referring to her as 'The Body'.
In an interview with Nine's Today Show, Macpherson addressed the hateful comments with a calm and composed demeanor.
"I don't take things personally," she stated. "I believe that what others think of me is not my concern."
Macpherson emphasized the importance of listening to one's inner voice and making decisions based on personal guidance rather than external opinions.
The former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model has been open about her approach to aging gracefully. She has admitted to using Botox and fillers but avoids surgery, prioritizing a natural look.
In a 2016 interview with the Telegraph Magazine, Macpherson shared her concerns about the potential risks of surgery, stating, 'I haven't had surgery; it's not in my game plan... because I know things can go wrong really easily.'
Instead, she focuses on a holistic approach to wellness, including vitamin injections, infusions, and a balanced diet. Macpherson's lifestyle changes became evident in her 50s when she noticed changes in her skin, hair, and weight.
"I noticed my skin, hair, and weight... I was just not feeling inspired, I had sugar cravings, and poor digestion," she recalled in 2023. "So, I sought guidance from my nutritionist, recognizing the need to address my lifestyle."
Her nutritionist recommended a powerful multivitamin, prebiotic, and probiotic powder, which Macpherson embraced, leading to a significant improvement in her overall well-being.
Inspired by her success, Macpherson founded WelleCo, a platform dedicated to sharing her wellness journey and empowering others to embrace a healthy lifestyle.
