Botulism-Causing Bacteria Detected in Baby Formula Across Multiple States

Fortunately, this outbreak does not pose a risk of infant formula shortages. ByHeart holds a small market share, accounting for approximately 1% of national formula sales. This is in stark contrast to the 2022 crisis when Abbott's formula was linked to infant deaths and illnesses, causing significant shortages due to their substantial market presence.
